Daniel Yancey, Interim Head Coach     

Coach Yancey has a great swim history with the Waterdawgs as he was part of the team from 1991 to 1996. During his swimming career, Coach Daniel represented Frederica Academy High School at the state swim meet and is the only male scoring swimmer in the history of Frederica Academy. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Math at the University of Georgia, Coach Daniel began coaching the Junior C Team in 2003. In 2004, he began coaching the Y Barracuda Masters Team and took several of the Master swimmers to Nationals in 2004, 2005,2006 and 2007. Two athletes he has coached have set multple National, Zone, and State Records. One athlete is an All American. In 2005, he added the Junior A & B swim groups to his responsibilities. In 2007, Coach Daniel took the Waterdawgs to Age Group State, placing overall 2nd in the their division and the Boys 11-12 placing 1st. Also, Coach Daniel was selected in 2007 as the Georgia Coaching Representative at the Zone Championships. He teaches math full time at Glynn Academy.

Mike Irish, Assistant Coach

Coach Mike is in his third season with the Waterdawgs, coaching the Junior C  and the Swim Team Prep teams. He has also helped with the Masters Swim Team, as well as being a member of the Barracudas in the past. During the school year Coach Mike helps with the YWCA Kinderswim Program. Prior to coming to Brunswick he swam in junior and high school in Enfield, Ct. Coach Mike joined the Coast Guard in 1982 and when he returned home he was asked to help coach the town swim team, the Enfield Dolphins Swim Team, where both of his children started to swim. Nicole swam with the Waterdawgs from 2000 to 2005 and Sean swam until he found soccer. While coaching with the EDST Coach Mike had a recreation team and about 1/3 of them swam USS. He was the assistant coach for four seasons and head coach of the USS swimmers and the Senior Recreation Team. During Coach Mike's tenure with the Enfield Dolphins he had two swimmers qualify for the U.S Open.
